Following the successful launch of the Solar Manufacturing Accelerator, SolarPower Europe and EIT Innoenergy launch on the 23rd February the European Solar Initiative. Based on the important market prospects for solar PV in the next decade and the technological leadership of European companies, the European Solar Initiative aims at re-starting the PV manufacturing industry across the entire value-chain, in Europe, with the objective of capturing 20GW of yearly solar capacity additions forecasted in Europe towards 2025
