The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Awards recognise local authorities judged to have done the most to raise awareness of sustainable mobility during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK (16-22 September). This year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, local authorities do not need to implement the three criteria to be eligible to apply.
Instead they can apply with their events and permanent infrastructure initiatives as usual – organising activities during the week of 16-22 September, implementing or promoting new transport infrastructure, and holding a Car-Free Day – or their online alternatives and short-term measures to help people move around safely during the pandemic. Applicants need to also sign the Charter.
The winners of the awards are chosen by an independent panel of transport experts. The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Awards are given out in two categories: one for municipalities larger than 100,000 inhabitants, and one for smaller municipalities under this threshold.
